Video Games ⁽¹¹⁾

Good lord a lot of shit has happened since Jan 14th, which is when I heaped praise on Codgeguh. Not even worth getting into!! But also, this game has been blocking me because I don't know what to say about it, so...let's just figure out something to say.

2024 is almost at a close, which is exactly how every "Game of the Year" article starts. But this is not just any end of the year list. This is my end of the year list, which means it's inherently better. As we all know, my opinions are fundamentally correct and completely undeniable.

If you know me, you know I love Katamari Damacy. So it's no surprise that I bought the remake of the sequel, We Love Katamari, the day it came out. I did this knowing full well that I like it significantly less than the original because second best is still pretty good. 

My wife and I finished playing The Sinking City on switch a couple of weeks ago, and I have some thoughts. We 100%'d it (as much as possible - I'll explain later what that means), so I'll be going into some detail here!

I finally finished this game! Now I feel like I can talk about it.

First of all, I want to thank my good friend Ramona for suggesting this game - they advocated for it quite a bit when it first came out, but my dumb ass waited until it was on sale to pick it up. I should have gotten it right away! You can read their words on this game here:

Hoo boy, what a weird game. 

I finished this game at 23 hours, but I'm now 40 hours in. This is unusual for me.

Dragon Quest Monsters is delightful even 24 years (!) later. I’m playing with this retranslation patch, mostly because I wanted something different:

It’s actually a really good patch though, and makes the game’s dialogue infinitely more charming.
